John Amrhein is a seasoned leader in clinical research and statistical services, bringing more than 17 years of leadership experience to his role as Co-Founder and VP, Business Development at EvoClinical. Known for his ability to build relationships and to bridge technical expertise with strategic vision, John has built a career on helping organizations turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
John began his journey as a Statistician at SAS Institute (Canada), where, as an educator and consultant, he developed a deep understanding of data analysis and its value in business and research decisions. He later joined McDougall Scientific, a leading Toronto-based data services CRO, as a Senior Statistician. Progressing to Director, Operations, and later Vice President, he led initiatives spanning sales, marketing, IT infrastructure, and operations, helping grow the company threefold in just four years. During the President’s extended leave, John successfully oversaw all aspects of the business, further cementing his reputation as a trusted, steady-handed leader.
Following McDougall’s successful acquisition by Alimentiv, Inc., John managed the integration of HR, IT, finance, legal, statistical services, data management, and quality systems, ensuring a smooth transition for both clients and staff. He led Alimentiv’s newly formed statistical services team.
Now at EvoClinical, John’s focus is on building a world-class data services organization that leverages automation and AI to deliver faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective solutions for clients sponsoring clinical trials. His leadership is defined by a commitment to trust, quality, and lasting partnerships.
John holds a Bachelor of Science from Penn State, a Master of Science from Virginia Tech, and a Master of Statistics from North Carolina State.
